Skopelos Dive Center actively participated in the international boot Düsseldorf 2026 exhibition, held from 16 to 25 January 2026, presenting digital solutions developed around diving tourism and Underwater Cultural Heritage.
As part of the exhibition, Skopelos Dive Center presented the Augmented Reality (AR) leaflet developed for the modern shipwreck “CHRISTOFOROS”, offering industry professionals and visitors the opportunity to discover how new technologies can enrich the promotion of diving destinations. Through the AR experience, the shipwreck is presented in an interactive way, using digital content and 3D elements that enhance the understanding, accessibility, and attractiveness of the underwater cultural experience.
These digital applications are being developed within the framework of the D.I.V.E. project, which is implemented with the support of fuTOURiSME and funded by the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA). The project aims to enhance the diving tourism experience by combining physical promotional tools with digital technologies, making underwater destinations more accessible, engaging, and educational for divers, visitors, and the wider public.
EnaliaTec participates in the D.I.V.E. project as an external partner, undertaking the technical implementation and development of the digital application. Through its expertise in interactive applications, immersive technologies, and digital solutions for the marine and cultural sectors, EnaliaTec contributes to the creation of the AR and VR experiences that bring the “CHRISTOFOROS” shipwreck to life and support the digital promotion of Skopelos as a diving destination.
During boot Düsseldorf 2026, the AR leaflet was also presented to PADI Regional Manager, Kostas Triantafyllou, contributing to the dialogue on the use of digital tools for the promotion of diving destinations and the interpretation of Underwater Cultural Heritage.
The presence of D.I.V.E. at boot Düsseldorf 2026 provided an important opportunity for the international promotion of the connection between diving tourism, digital innovation, and underwater cultural experiences, confirming the role of AR and VR technologies in creating more immersive, accessible, and engaging experiences for the public..
