EnaliaTec

EnaliaTec is a startup spin-off of the National Centre for Research and Technology Development (EKETA), founded in February 2021 with the goal of entering an innovative market focused on the research and development of underwater technologies, software, and hardware for the marine scientific community.

EnaliaTec’s services are based on the expertise of the Virtual and Augmented Reality Laboratory team at EKETA, developed within the framework of research projects. 

The company participates in European projects related to blue technologies, supporting the study, protection, management, and promotion of underwater heritage (both cultural and natural). These projects also include applications of virtual and augmented reality for scientific purposes and public recreation in museums or information centers, autonomous underwater and surface vehicles for marine operations, technical equipment supporting underwater archaeological research, and more.

Dimitrios Tzovaras

Dr. Dimitrios Tzovaras is a Senior Researcher and President of the Board at CERTH. With a Ph.D. in 2D/3D Image Compression, his research spans network security, machine learning, and virtual reality. He has authored 825 publications, participated in 180+ research projects, and has been a key editor for multiple journals.

Ioannis Mariolis

Dr. Ioannis Mariolis is a Post-doctoral Research Fellow in CERTH/ITI, since 2012. He received the Diploma degree and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, in 2002 and 2009, respectively, both from the University of Patras (UoP)- Greece. During 2010 and 2011, Dr. Mariolis worked as a post-doctoral research assistant at the Medical Physics Laboratory - School of Medicine-(UoP). He has been a teaching assistant at TEI Patras (2009-2011). His main research interests include machine learning, image analysis, robotic perception and underwater robotics.

Angelos Manglis

Angelos Manglis is a member of the Hellenic Marine Archaeology Institute, specializing in underwater archaeology. With an MSc in Archaeology and the History of Arts and another in Technical Change & Industrial Strategy, he has contributed to European projects focused on underwater cultural heritage. He is an expert in RTD project management and has strong industry and policy connections globally.

Dimitra Papadopoulou

Dimitra Papadopoulou holds Master's degrees in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London and Environmental Engineering from the Technical University of Crete. She specializes in Environmental Management Systems, waste management, pollution assessment, and life cycle analysis. She has contributed to several EU projects promoting Blue Economy and Underwater Cultural Heritage, and is a certified ISO 14001:2015 auditor.

Sotiris Maglis

Sotiris Maglis holds a degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Marketing and Operations Management from the University of Macedonia and works as a business consultant at Atlantis Consulting. At the same time, he is pursuing postgraduate studies in Strategic Innovation Management at the University of Groningen. Since 2025, he has been actively supporting EnaliaTec as a shareholder and has a strong interest in the intersection of technology, science, and innovation.
